About me

My various advisors tell me I shouldn't write this page. I disagree. If anyone is going to say who I am, who better than me?

I'm a self-taught artist --musician, designer, magician. Over the last fifty years I've done what I can to lay proper claim to these titles. As a musician I've performed in uncountable venues and capacities: band and orchestra member, recording artist, record producer, song writer and soloist. As a designer I've worked in every setting from journalism to advertising to the web. As a magician I have tried to make what I do surprising and different.

In the end, here I am, still working, still proud of my craft and ready to serve with my knowledge and abilities.

My education is unorthodox. I didn't finish high school, and at this point I take this as a point of pride. I studied the crafts of music composition and writing at the New School for Social Research in New York. I learned the science of computing by jumping right in there in the seventies and eighties, working on projects that would shape the future of software production in audio, graphics, animation and 3D.

During the course of the last half century I have: recorded and produced dozens of musical albums, helped with the production of twelve books, trained photographers and graphic artists in the use of digital software and modern production methods, performed as musician in hundreds of venues, and assisted in the creation of dozens of plays, movies and video productions.

For those of you that may wish to track me as a professional here are the companies that I haveworked for and with during my career:
